The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has deployed 38 chief executive officers (CEOs) and business owners from among its members to take part in the government’s Kapatid Mentor Me (KMME) program.
Virgilio G. Espeleta, Cebu Chamber president, said the KMME program is one of the special projects that the chamber is implementing.
The KMME program, or Project KAPATID, is an initiative of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship to help micro and small enterprises.
Under the Mentor ME (micro entrepreneurs) component, large corporations coach and mentor micro and small entrepreneurs on the different aspects of business operations.
The DTI Central Visayas regional office launched its latest mentoring program in May, with the fourth batch of participants from Bohol, sixth batches in Cebu and in Negros Oriental and the first batch in Siquijor.
Aside from deploying coaches and mentors for the program, Espeleta said the chamber also mobilized 27 panelists during the presentation of the Business Improvement Plan of the DTI Cebu Mentees on July 26.
Other components of Project KAPATID are the Adopt-an-SSF (Shared Service Facility) program, which aims to help micro entrepreneurs by providing them access to SSFs in their community and the Inclusive Business (IB) model where MSEs are linked into large companies’ value chains. (Ventures Cebu)
