Chachago, another milk tea brand from Taiwan, has opened its first branch in Cebu amid the milk tea craze in the Philippines.

The milk tea shop, located at Level 4, near the Food Gallery, of Robinsons Galleria Cebu, opened on September 13, 2019.

Another Chachago shop is set to open at the Oakridge Business Park in Mandaue City in October or November this year.

The franchise holders for the Galleria Cebu branch, Jun and Carol Go, said Chachago is unlike other milk tea brands because the tapioca pearls that they use remain soft even after several hours.

“The (tapioca) pearls used by other milk tea brands harden after a certain period. In this one, the pearls remain soft,” Carol says.

Chachago also discards of the tea every 4 hours, says Jun, because by then, “it becomes bitter.”

Among its bestsellers are the Brown Sugar series, which is also the latest craze in milk tea. It also offers fruit tea drinks and a cream cheese based series, among others.

Chachago has opened 17 outlets in Metro Manila and one branch in Tacloban City, Leyte since it came to the country in December 2018.
