Longtime Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) officer and business mentor Virgilio G. Espeleta has taken up the reins of Cebu’s biggest business organization along with a newly elected set of officers for 2019-2020.
Espeleta, who is currently engaged in handholding family-run businesses through his consultancy firm Famcor Franchise Management and Executive Development Corporation, assumed his new role as CCCI president on March 1, 2019.
The newly-elected vice presidents for the chamber’s four divisions are: Charles Kenneth C. Co of Cebu Steel Corporation, vice president (VP) for External Affairs and Relations; Jay Y. Yuvallos of Interior Basics Export Corporation, VP for Business Development; Felix Taguiam of Deco Sales, Inc., VP for Finance and Administrative Services; and Benedict Y. Que of Golden Prince Hotel and Suites, VP for Membership Development.
Other newly-elected officers are: Francis L. Dy of Greenworld LED Solutions, Inc., board secretary; Alice K. Queblatin of the Cebu Alliance of Tour Operation Specialists, Inc.; assistant board secretary; Wendell D. Ganhinhin of Punongbayan & Araullo, treasurer; and Jose Mari A. Cañizares of Cañizares The Architect, assistant treasurer.
Representing the trade sector to the board of trustees are: Ronald S. Po of Fiesta Beverage Corporation; Carolyne Lumakang Go of Magic Melt Foods, Inc.; Felix O. Tiukinhoy, Jr. of Virginia Food, Inc.; and Ramir V. Bonghanoy of Bon-Ace Fashion Tools, Incorporated.
From the trade sector are; Melita Ramos of Cebu Supergro Products Corporation; Katherine K. Cheng of Baker Bob & Kate’s Bakery Products, Inc.; and Jose Enrico R. Gandionco of Cebu Primera Food Industries, Incorporated.
The services sector is represented by: Aldie P. Garcia of Isla Lipana & Company; Manuel “Bunny” D. Pages, Jr. of Pages Holdings, Inc.; and Lilu I. Aliño of the Cebu International Film Festival. Aliño also sits as this year’s chairperson of the Cebu Business Month (CBM) celebration.
Also elected to the board of trustees were: former CCCI president Robert L. Go, who is representing the Philippine Retailers Association Cebu Chapter; and Michael Cubos of Performance 360 Global Services, representing the information and communications technology (ICT) sector. (Ventures Cebu)
