The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) has created a new position that will focus on forging closer cooperation with government agencies.
The new post, CCCI presidential assistant for government relations, will also plan publicity strategies and campaigns as well as deal with inquiries from the public and press on political issues.
The first to hold such post is Manuel “Bunny” D. Pages, Jr., chairman and CEO of Pages Holdings, Incorporated.
Pages is an active member of the CCCI Board of Trustees and has dealt with several matters pertaining to the government.
Had he not ventured into business, he said he would have been in politics.
“I have this strong sense of civic service. But I never succumbed to the temptation and I don’t think I ever will,” Pages said in a statement.
Pages founded Pages Holdings, a multi-brand, multi-concept restaurant and food company.
Among its brands are Lantaw Native Restaurant, Moon Café, Thirsty Fresh Fruit Juices and Shakes, House of Lechon, Shaka, Café Racer, and BRIGHT Academy.
He was named the 2015 CCCI Entrepreneur of the Year.
He has also been actively engaged in public service, having been a member of the Cebu City traffic management board.
He had headed the Metro Cebu Traffic Council and the BanTal Task Force which was formed to address the traffic congestion on the Banilad-Talamban road. (Ventures Cebu)
