A ”young” team will spearhead the Cebu Business Month (CBM) 2020, which will carry the theme “Bring IT On”.
The IT in the theme could refer to infrastructure and tourism, investment and trade, information technology or innovative transformation, said Michael Cubos, Performance 360 Global Services, Inc. founder and CBM 2020 overall chairperson.
Cubos said his team will announce in December 2019 the events that will be held during the month-long celebration. There will also be pre-CBM activities, he said.
“We will be announcing our programs for CBM2020 (in) December but to give some early insights, it will be a showcase of results and not just plans and action items,” he added.
He promised to deliver “something that has never been done before.”
This will be a “CBM with a millennial touch, fresh and very grounded (in) technology”, Cubos said.
“We are creating platforms that CCCI and Cebu can use and can take over once CBM2020 is done,” he added.
The CBM2020 team was presented to the chamber’s members during its general membership meeting on October 29, 2019.
Cubos will be assisted by:
Gerald Yuvallos, vice chairperson for ways and means;
Robby Alugar, head of Media Relations, and istorya.net for social media;
Alice Queblatin, chairperson of the tourism committee, with Edilberto Mendoza, Jr. and Brigitte Lim-Mueller as co-chairpersons;
Joslyn Canon, chairperson of the information and communications technology (ICT) committee, with Brian Mueller as co-chairperson;
Ryan Raymund Yu, chairperson of the entrepreneurship committee with Wesley Chiongbian as co-chairperson;
Marie Ernestine Denise Fajatin, chairperson of creative industries committee while Emot Amodia is co-chairperson;
Maria Claudette Manus, chairperson of the Cebu Innovation Summit, with Fleire Mae Castro and Mikee Morado as co-chairpersons;
Herminia Go, chairperson of the Grand Opening Salvo, with Wilma Monares as co-chairperson;
Katherine K. Cheng, chairperson of the Grand Chamber Awards and Fellowship Night;
Nimrod Quiñones, chairperson of Business-in-Golf tournament; and
Eduardo Solana, Jr., co-chairperson of Edilberto Mendoza, Jr. for the Lumba’g Laag sa Sugbo.
Cubos said he has set “very high expectations” for his team.
“But what’s more important for us in the team is to leave a mark, a mark that will last for years, a legacy. For most of us in the team, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to show what we got. So we got to Bring IT On!” he added. (Ventures Cebu)
