Fruitas Holdings, Inc. on Friday, Oct. 22, 2021, said it achieved its target to open 100 community stores 71 days ahead of its timeline, with the opening of a store under the brand Balai Pandesal in Parañaque City in Metro Manila.
These stores are located in major urban areas, including those in Metro Cebu.
Lester Yu, Fruitas Holdings president and CEO, said the company intends to further expand its small-footprint food and beverage store network and reach a total of 200 stores in 2022.
“Community stores allow us to have more flexibility in our operations especially with the constant changes in quarantine guidelines. We are more accessible to customers residing or working nearby and the larger format stores also act as hubs for our delivery services,” he said.
The first Fruitas stall opened in 2002. By the end of 2020, Fruitas had around 1,000 stores and over 25 brands.
Its brands are Fruitas Fresh from Babot’s Farm, Buko Loco, Buko ni Fruitas, De Original Jamaican Pattie, Johnn Lemon, Juice Avenue, Black Pearl, Friends Fries, The Mango Farm, 7,107 Halo Halo Islands, Tea Rex, Kuxina, SHOU La Mien Hand-Pulled Noodles, and Sabroso Lechon.
The company recently launched Fruitas dairy-based ice cream and the Soy & Bean soy product line, including Soy & Bean soy-based ice cream, and is opening a number of Babot’s Farm, Soy & Bean and Balai Pandesal community stores. (Ventures Cebu)
