Golden Prince holds photo contest, outreach as it marks anniversary

Golden Prince Hotel and Suites held a photography competition and conducted outreach activities to mark its and Golden Valley Hotel’s anniversaries.


Golden Prince, a 159-room near the Cebu Business Park, is celebrating its 13th year while Golden Valley, a 50-room hotel near heritage sites in downtown Cebu City, is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Both hotels are run by the Que family.


Over 20 entries to the photography competition titled DAKPAN! were received. The competition revolved around the theme “Golden Moments through Silver Lenses”.


Participants included Jolex Lim, EmmanSawit, RA Roque, Rey Opana, Bibi Delos Reyes and new blood, Jeff Caliso.


No registration fee was collected. The participants needed only to hand over their USB that contained their photo entries.


They were given access to the rooms, the kitchen and all the outlets where they were given the freedom to take photos that “encouraged golden moments that are definitely Cebuano”.

The best photos will be awarded on the hotel’s anniversary on September 27, 2019.


Meanwhile, Golden Prince Hotel employees gave back to the community by visiting the Gasa sa Gugma on August 20, 2019 and the DSWD Home for Girls om August 24, 2019.


“Our beloved employees, sang beautiful songs while some went around and engaged with our elderly. They brushed our Nanays' hair and exchanged stories of the past with our Tatays,” the hotel said in a statement.


Account executive Mevs Arriola sang “Can't Help Falling In Love With You”, bringing tears to the eyes of the elderly occupants of Gasa sa Gugma.


The team served the hotel’s signature Ube Ensymada as Chef Roque sang “Matud Nila” in a duet with Gasa sa Gugma's resident songbird Nanay Auring.


The team also donated towels, linens, sugar and sacks of rice.


At the DSWD Home for Girls, the hotel team brought guest speaker Dr. Aldwin Jimena, who shared a brief reorientation on proper hand wash and oral hygiene.


The team hosted some games and distributed toiletry kits filled with soap, toothbrush, toothpaste and other necessities. They also gave away linens, towels and boxes of clothes for the girls.


“It was a very energetic and fun visit. It was an event filled with lessons of self love and gratefulness,” the hotel added.


Golden Prince boasts of two towers with a total of 159 rooms and suites. Dining options include Q Cafe, Le’Mon Restaurant, Kabilin Heritage Lounge which features Cebuano delicacies for merienda and Bulawan Grills & Wines at the 11th floor roofdeck. (Ventures Cebu)
