The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) again reaped awards during the annual Philippine Business Conference held virtually Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021.
The MCCI was named as the Most Outstanding Chamber in the Visayas and in the Philippines for City Level 1. MCCI president Steven Alain Yu received the award.
It was the second time for the MCCI to be named as the most outstanding chamber nationwide and the ninth time to win the same award in the Visayas.
“This award is a recognition and affirmation of the dedication and selfless service of the MCCI Board and staff, the active involvement of our chamber members and the trust and confidence of our Provincial and City government,” Yu said.
“We will continue to be relevant as a chamber and create high impact and innovative activities and projects for our beloved Mandaue City and Province of Cebu. This will be our contribution to the revival of our economy and our country,” he added.
The CCCI, meanwhile, was given the Most Outstanding Chamber Award for the Visayas under Province Level 1. The chamber was also given a Special Recognition of excellence in the areas of business policy and advocacy, delivery of business support services, and chamber operations.
CCCI president Felix Taguiam accepted the awards.
In a statement, the CCCI said "these accolades compel us to connect opportunities, grow businesses, and create value for the business community in particular and society in general."
"Furthermore, we are heartened to remain steadfast in our vision-mission to be the engine of Cebu’s business growth and voice of the islands’ business communities despite the hurdles brought by the pandemic," the chamber added.
The CCCI also congratulated its sister-chamber, Ormoc City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, for receiving a Special Citation, and the local government units of Tagbilaran City and Iloilo City for having won the Business Friendly LGUs Award. (From PR)
