Opening ceremonies for the Anjo World, a 1.5-hectare amusement park, will be held Friday, December 21, but the park will be opened to the public at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 22.

Set to open in the first quarter of 2019 are the 200-foot Ferris Wheel, Boomerang, Hip-Hop, Spinning Roller Coaster, and Bumper Boats.

Four themed zones based on popular features in Europe, Asia, America and Africa will serve as the entrance to the different rides.

“Guests can talk a walk around the busy streets of Europe, be dazzled in the colorful streets of Asia, embark on an American escapade or go on a jungle adventure in Africa,” the Belmont Group, developer of the park, said in a statement.

Belmont, a family-owned business which started as a hardware store in 1973 but has since diversified to property development and fashion accessories manufacturing, earlier said it will initially spend about P500 million for the park.

Belmont earlier opened Snow World, an Ice Theme Park that allows visitors to simulate a winter experience. Aside from the frost and snow, the 2,000-square-meter icy wonderland also features ice-slide rides, life-size ice sculptures and an indoor ice bar that offers coffee and hot chocolate.

The rides and attractions featured in Anjo World are imported from members of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA). Anjo World is also a member of IAAPA, the largest international trade association for permanently situated amusement facilities worldwide..

About a million domestic and international visitors are expected to visit the park in the first year and up to 7.5 million visitors are seen in the next five years.

The park would be open from 12 noon to 8 p.m. during weekdays, and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Ample parking space for over 200 vehicles is available. (Ventures Cebu)
