Energy company Vivant Corp. said its wholly owned subsidiary Vivant Hydrocore Holdings Inc. (VHHI) will build a utility-scale desalination plant to produce treated and potable water for Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD).
VHHI has won a 25-year bulk water supply contract to supply 20,000 cubic meters of water per day to MCWD, Vivant said in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange on June 21, 2021.
The Cordova Bulk Water Supply Project will be undertaken by VHHI and its technical partner, Watermatic Philippines Corp. (WMP).
“This investment in bulk water supply is a key milestone for the Vivant group to deliver on its promise to provide forward-looking and adaptable solutions for its communities,” Vivant said.
VHHI is set to sign a joint venture agreement with MCWD for the project.
In 2019, VHHI entered into a memorandum of agreement with WaterMatic International Ltd., an Israeli company, to establish a joint venture company that will be engaged in the design, supply (including detailed design, procurement, and assembly), installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of water treatment and waste water treatment plants.
